Science Week Water Aid

Lesson: Science

Class: Year 1 Year: 2019 - 2020

As part of our Water Aid work Year 1 have been learning what life is like without access to clean water. They found out that children in parts of Madagascar often have to walk a 4 mile round trip to get clean water for their families. Our children found out what that was like today as they learnt to carry a bucket on their heads, the same weight it would be if it was full of water. They found it pretty tough!

This afternoon we built a Tippy Tap just like the people in Madagascar who have no taps or running water. Each of the children had a go at operating the tippy tap to fill a beaker with clean water to drink.
