Half way through!

Date: 10th Feb 2020 @ 4:44pm

I can hardly believe we are half way through this academic year! Spring is just around the corner, but this week storm Ciara is doing her best to blow us all away. The forecast for the next few days is for wintry weather so please ensure children come to school with warm coats, hats and gloves etc. - we do try to send the children out for fresh air, whatever the weather!

It's almost time for the mid-year parents' meetings. You should have received a letter today explaining how to sign up for an appointment. Meetings will be held on Tuesday 3rd March and Thursday 5th March. This is an opportunity for you to look at children's work books and to discuss progress at this half way point in the year. Appointments are limited to 10 minutes to make sure we can fit everyone in, so if you think you need more time or you have an important issue to discuss please contact teachers direct to organise an alternative time and date.

The PTFA have, sadly, had to cancel the Valentine's disco this week due to unforeseen circumstances. This is a favourite with the children so we were all disappointed. Things are not looking too good for our wonderful PTFA at the moment and it may not be able to continue. sadWe are desperately looking for more volunteers to support the group. In particular we need a treasurer - without one, they cannot legally exist!! If you think you can spare a little time, please contact us. The PTFA is made up of a lovely group of parents who work hard to orgaise events to raise additional funds for school. During the last few years some of the things they have paid for include, leavers' hoodies, pantomime trips, theatres in school and new play ground equipment - all extras that our budget cannot afford. Without the PTFA we will not be able to continue to run our amazing fireworks night, Bingo nights, children's discos or school fairs. sadPlease help us if you can!

I'm sure you're all looking forward to the up-coming break. I hope you all have a relaxing and safe holiday and we all look forward to seeing you when we return to school on Monday 24th February.
